The Complete Guide to Hosting an Event at Largo's Loft in St. Catharines

Some of the best gatherings in the world are small ones.

Not because of budget or necessity — but because intimacy is intentional. Because twenty people who feel truly seen and gathered in a space that was made for them will remember that afternoon far longer than a hundred people standing in a room that was made for everyone.

At Largo's Loft, we've had the privilege of hosting a wide range of intimate events — bridal showers and baby showers, brand launches and business offsites, workshops and women's circles, micro weddings and engagement parties. Each one different. Each one held in the same 1,800 square feet of natural light, organic textures, and considered design in the heart of downtown St. Catharines.

Here's what it actually looks like to host an event here — and what you should know before you reach out.

What Makes the Loft Work for Small Events

The honest answer is that Largo's Loft was built to hold both things at once: a working photography studio and a gathering space for women to celebrate, create, and connect. Those two functions share more DNA than they might seem to.

Both require beautiful light. Both require a space that feels elevated without feeling cold. Both need a layout that lets people move through it freely — not a single room with chairs pointed at a wall, but a space with zones, each one with its own character and use.

The Loft has that. The main studio floor anchors the space — warm, editorial, impossible to take a bad photo in. The boardroom nook works for breakout sessions or seated workshops. The kitchenette keeps the hosting side of things running smoothly. And the glam and change room adds an experience layer that most intimate venues simply don't have — somewhere for a bride to do her hair, for guests to refresh, for the getting-ready moment to feel like a moment.

The natural light does work that décor can't. Consistent, warm, and flattering throughout the day, it means your event photos — taken on phones by guests who weren't trying — will look like they were styled.

Tips for Hosting Well Here

Let the space do the heavy lifting. The Loft's aesthetic is already considered — organic textures, warm light, editorial styling. You don't need to over-decorate. A few intentional touches (a loose floral arrangement, a styled table, a personal detail or two) read beautifully against what's already here.

Book enough time. Full-day rentals allow you to arrive without rushing, set up with intention, enjoy the gathering without watching the clock, and leave without the stress of a hard out. Some of the best events we've hosted were the ones where the host gave herself the gift of time.

Think about the photo moments. Because the light here is consistent and flattering throughout the day, almost every corner of the space produces beautiful photographs. Think about where you'll gather, where guests will arrive, where the table will be set — not just functionally, but visually. The photos will live long after the afternoon ends.

Reach out early. Event dates at the Loft fill more quickly than people expect, particularly in wedding & holiday seasons. If you have a date in mind, getting in touch early gives you the most flexibility!
